3:16. അവൻ നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ വെച്ചുകൊടുത്തതിനാൽ നാം സ്നേഹം എന്തു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; നാമും സഹോദരന്മാർക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാണനെ വെച്ചുകൊടുക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

3:16. We have come to know love by this: that Jesus laid down his life for us; thus we ought to lay down our lives for our fellow Christians.

3:16. We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.

3:16. Hereby know we love, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
